Reeds Turnpike Booster Pump Station – 3D Isometric & BIM

WGA was designing a new booster pump station and needed a way to communicate complex piping, equipment, and mechanical layouts clearly to stakeholders. The 2D plans alone were not enough for:

• Contractors
• City staff
• Owners
• Field crews

Each group needed to understand the arrangement of pumps, valves, sensors, and pipe connections without confusion or misinterpretation.

Traditional drawings made it challenging to visualize:

• The exact routing of process pipes
• The relationship between suction/discharge lines
• Valve locations, tees, elbows, reducers, and access points
• Clearances around pumps and equipment
• Installation workflow and sequencing

This gap created risk of miscommunication, field errors, delays, and change orders.

Plansrow created a complete 3D BIM model of the booster pump system based on the design plans provided by WGA.
Our deliverables included:

• A fully developed LOD 300–350 mechanical model
• Detailed isometric views for every process line
• Accurate representation of pumps, valves, tees, reducers, elbows, meters, and supports
• Spatial coordination to ensure real-world constructability
• High-clarity 3D visuals used for presentations and contractor communication

This model allowed all stakeholders to see the system as it would be built, not just as lines on a plan.
